Fast-paced, high growth third party logistics company (www.capacityllc.com) requires an Engineer focused on Sales or an ambitious college engineering graduate looking for an exciting opportunity. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and will provide day-to-day support to the CEO alongside the engineering responsibilities. The position will be extremely demanding in terms of pace, profile and performance requirements.
Responsibilities: the Sales Engineer will provide day-to-day sales, marketing and pricing support and direct sales alongside senior management. We seek and service clients who have us receive, store and prepare for shipment products going to consumers, boutiques, and major retailers requiring EDI.
The primary function is to support pricing of prospective clients, as well as process improvement and planning of existing and new clients and facilities. Assisting on facility design and material handling layouts, this position requires the knowledge of velocity slotting and implementing optimal pick and pack solutions.
This role will manage or contribute to facility layouts; material handling design; time studies; and process improvements. Additional responsibilities may include:
• Handling sales inquiries, by telephone and email;
• Working with design tools like Excel, Access, Visio, CAD, as well as understanding the systems engineering requirements for efficient operations.
• Working with sales tools like SalesForce.com and Google AdWords;
• Assisting with Client Services integration of new clients.
Qualifications: the job requires great communication skills, hands-on computer knowledge, and a very detailed-oriented individual. Additional requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Two years of relevant working experience preferred; prior distribution experience preferred; experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• PC literate in Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, MS Access and Excel with emphasis on meeting customer metrics; AutoCAD and Visio experience is a plus.
• Strong written, oral communication and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks with confidence.
• Ability to influence others, work as part of a team, and act as a catalyst for change.
Location: New York
Compensation: $60,000 and up: a competitive compensation package (including base salary, bonus and possibility of commission) sufficient to attract and retain a superior candidate.
